Memorial Day

Every Memorial day we spend the day with Ivan and his extended family. We start the day at uncle Dave's house arranging flowers that we all bring from our gardens, then on to the cemetery to pay respects to Ivan's Grandparents. Everyone then goes to aunt Janet's home in Highland to have dinner. It is a lot of fun and a special tradition. Too bad we didn't take photos. Our family has to make some stops before we go to Aunt Janet's.

My Sweet Sister-in-law Valine

We have always stopped at Whitney's Grandpa Trevino's grave. I have been taking her to visit all of her life.

I had to get this photo of her, it is tradition!

Even though it rained the entire day, we still had a special day, paying our respects to a few of our loved ones.

That is so awesome to continue in a tender tradition...."Lest we Forget." They "blazened" the trail.

God Bless the USA!!!

will you keep coming to mine..just add a coke or 2 and sing "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...I'd like to buy the world a coke and keep it company..."

I Love you....Mel

Just wanted to comment on your day today....Thank you for standing up for what you believe in (Carter). He is a large part of your heart and sometimes it (your heart) needs to be taken care of!!! Maybe through your example, others will be more careful about what they say, to your face or behind your back.

Unkind comments do sting and it is hard to not be offended. You forge ahead with much courage and patience...thank you so much for that example. It's a great reminder to watch what we say...you never know who may be listening, or better yet...second hand!!

I hope you have a great day with your family and your niece coming to you. I LOVED sitting with you during sunday school...GOosh, GooSh!! Small moments with lasting warmth...thank you, love you, Mel
