Tagged

I have been tagged by my friend Misty to post the 6th picture in the 6th folder on my computer. Our family is a cross between the Osbournes and the Osmond's so I was a bit nervous to do this. With our family you never know what you will get.

Phew, it is just baby Janika at the zoo May 2004.

I tag...

Melanie (even though Misty already tagged you), McKoy, Marie, Donna, Linda and Sherri

My Little Monkeys...

Monkey #1 Ice cream and a banana (we are such health nuts).
Monkey #2, this monkey could eat a bunch in one setting! He takes banana eating seriously.
Monkey #3, takes one bite and plays with the rest. She has a lot of fun making messes!

Ready for a new week...

Last week was super crazy. On top of what happened to Whitney, Janika got an ear infection and then had an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillin (she still has the hives). Morgan got the pneumonia and an ear infection. Then on Saturday our big screen TV totally died. I am very excited for a new week!

Whitney has had a lot of visitors come over. I am so grateful to everyone that came to the hospital or our home to wish her well. Melanie brought us a yummy dinner it was nice to not worry about cooking something on her first day home. We do not have photos of everyone, but here are a few of her visitors.

Braden, he seems freaked out!

Kourtney and Tiffany
My cute nephew Hans (these two cousins are great friends)
Cody (I love this kid)

This is Whitney right before we took off her bandages.

Whitney's Hospital Stay....

Whitney has been having major pains since August, but on Monday night something was very different. She was hurting so bad in her tummy and vomiting uncontrollably. The night before I had watched an episode of Lost and Jack had to get his appendix out. Whitney acted just like the guy in the show so my motherly instinct told me to take her into InstaCare.

This is Whitney at InstaCare after they ran all kinds of tests. She was trying to hold still and not freak out so much about the pain.

InstaCare sent us over to LDS hospital for a CT scan. The tech at the hospital didn't have the IV in her vein and when the dye went in it filled her arm up. It was really bad, so bad that they were going to admit her rather or not she had to get her appendix out. This is her arm after it had went down. I wished I would have been able to take a photo of it sooner, but you can still see that it is swollen.

Whitney after finding out that not only did she have appendicitis, she also had a large calcified gull stone. So it was a two for one special. At least we know why she had been having those pain episodes, dang gull stones.

This is my brave little girl on the way to the operating table.

She lived! This is her after and in good spirits (see my cute Dad).

I wished I could look this great after two surgeries.

She was spoiled with flowers.

A little sympathy for me please... This is the bed I slept on for two nights. I really didn't sleep much.

She had a lot of family visit. This is Freddy and Angie. Freddy is Whitney's cousin on the TreviƱo side.

Friends Danny, Kevin and Jessie.
Whitney's bestie Kourtney. She looks very concerned!
Time to go home! She came home today around 11:30 am. She is doing well and resting in her room. It just sucks to see your daughter in pain, but I am glad she is going to be ok.

The only good thing that came out of this entire ordeal is that my friend Melanie brought us a delicious dinner tonight and brought me a coke earlier in the day. What would we do without friends?

Whitneys Night, 50's Style

I really want to make this post about me because I spent a couple of years working with all the young women in our ward and being released from my calling has been really sad for me. It really hit me hard at New Beginnings on Wednesday night. It was my project that I didn't get to follow through on. I thought it would be nice to sit back and relax, but it felt odd not helping. I was also amazed how fast the girls moved on. Only a month ago I would walk into the room and they would all come up to me, hug me, hang around me or ever scream for me. Nothing like that on this night. Only 1 girl even spoke to me. It just saddened me a bit, but it was also good for me because now I can completely let it go and move forward in my new calling in Relief Society.

Ok about Whitney. She is just so dang cute! One of her sweet leaders loaned her the clothes. The night was just so great, the leaders and all the girls did such an amazing job putting it all together and Whitney gave a cute talk about personal progress. During the little dance they did Whitney totally hammed it up to be funny. Here are the photos I took of her.

I love being her mom!

Morgan's first pigtails

I have been trying to get Morgan's little bit of hair into pigtails for a couple of months now. I finally did it today. All I had to do was give her a bowl of Lucky Charms and she was occupied. If she could talk I know she would tell me that I should wait until she gets more hair. I persnoally think she is adorable!

Bath time is over!

My Mom and Dad gave the kids bath towels for Christmas. They love them!

Just a couple of things on Autism..

I know Autism is very hard to understand. I often wonder if Carter has been diagnosed wrong and if he is just a naughty or weird boy. Videos like the following give me a harsh reminder of my reality. Yes I can be thankful! I can be thankful that my son has made a lot of progress, that he is on the high function spectrum and that I am his most favorite person in the entire world. I am also thankful for the program through the Davis County school district and that is free of charge. I see some major flaws in the program, but at least they are doing something to help children like mine.

Am I judged? Yes, I am judged as a parent. Rude comments are made in almost every situation from family parties to people at church (yeah that one place you should feel peace). I am sick of people telling me Carter should be potty trained. Seriously do people think I enjoy cleaning crap off a 3 almost 4 year old? Seriously, I potty trained Whitney, Michael and Janika all at the age 2 so back off! I am sick of people calling the police when he is screaming, I am sick of people saying that I need to discipline him better. A few people in my life totally understand what is going on and to you people (you know who you are) thanks for your love and support, thanks for all the information you gather to help Carter and thanks for a listening ear.

This video is what I want to show the world, so I will start on my little blog.

The first video is very long, but it is well worth watching. The second is a music video, that made me ball like a baby.

Our Mayan Adventure

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the Mayan . The food isn't the best, but the atmosphere is amazing. We usually have some type of excitement while we eat at this place. Last time McKoy and Whitney hit on one of the divers, one time Carter freaked about a balloon (sure glad they did away with the balloon making), another time our food was so disgusting that we couldn't even eat it (yes that is with the new chef, and for me not to eat something you know it is bad). This time the most memorable moment can be seen in the following photos. Whitney took the photos with her phone, so they are really dark.

We were shocked when this Diver climbed up to our table. Carter was very impressed!

After visiting with us for a moment, he stood up and dived off the ledge. In all my years going to this place, I had never seen this done. So cool!

Wonder what will happen next time?

Welcome 2009

Happy new year to everyone! This has been an awesome year so far. I had my 36th birthday yesterday. It was one of the best birthdays ever! Saturday, my friend Melanie took me to lunch and a movie. I was introduced to the ever so "hot" Edward (grrrr). My MIL and FIL came, brought us dinner and gave me my gift. Sunday, Ivan and the kids showered me with gifts, Whitney made my favorite cake and My Mom had family dinner where I ate the best food ever, had my Mom's cheese cake and got many more gifts from family. At church I got a lot of birthday wishes and on facebook too. The night ended about 1:30 am when Ivan and I finished season 3 of Lost. Everyone made me feel so special!

A few photos to share of our new year so far...
On New Years Eve, I heard the door bell ring. When I opened the dooor this man sprayed me with silly string. It frightened me big time, untill I relized it was my sweetie. Morgan and I were feeling sick on New Years Eve and I was bummed about not going to my friends party, this was his way of cheering me up (I love this guy).

The Roses given by the silly man.

Janika getting ready to bang her pot. She is excited to make some New Year noise.

Janika celebrating the New Year, sipping her sparkling cider. Janika was the only child up this late and Whitney was with friends.

Janika helping take down the Christmas decorations (they have to be gone before my birthday.

Me on my birthday (thanks for the cake Whit).
