Memorial Day

Every Memorial day we spend the day with Ivan and his extended family. We start the day at uncle Dave's house arranging flowers that we all bring from our gardens, then on to the cemetery to pay respects to Ivan's Grandparents. Everyone then goes to aunt Janet's home in Highland to have dinner. It is a lot of fun and a special tradition. Too bad we didn't take photos. Our family has to make some stops before we go to Aunt Janet's.

My Sweet Sister-in-law Valine

We have always stopped at Whitney's Grandpa Trevino's grave. I have been taking her to visit all of her life.

I had to get this photo of her, it is tradition!

Even though it rained the entire day, we still had a special day, paying our respects to a few of our loved ones.

Broccoli is evil!

I am allergic to broccoli, I know it sounds strange. No one believes me when I tell them, even my own Mother made me prove it to her a few years ago. I read on the web that if you get your gallbladder out you may be able to tolerate broccoli so a couple of months ago I got brave enough to try it. Well.... I didn't get sick so I decided to have it on Thursday and I got deathly ill. I was sitting in guitar lessons and thought I was having a code brown. My mind was racing on how to handle the situation, (go in my teachers bathroom and stink up the class, run next door to my dear friend Melanie's house, or just go home and crap my pants on the way). Well it never happened my tummy just hurt constantly and on the way home it dawned on me BROCCOLI!!! Long storey short I barfed and was doubled up in the worst constant pain for two days straight (it usually lasts 3). NO MORE BROCCOLI EVER FOR ME. DON'T QUESTION WHY AND THINK I AM MAKING IT UP. JUST DON'T EVER FEED IT TO ME!

Carls Jr. Fun

Almost every week I grab the kids and meet my friend Melanie and her Daughter Sara at Carl's Jr. for lunch. Well.... while I was ordering my food Melanie gave Morgan her first french fry. She took these super cute photos of her to show me what she had done. Whitney meet us on her lunch break and added a lot of fun to our conversation. I was so excited this morning when I found an email from Melanie with these cute photos. I hope she doesn't mind me using them on my blog. I just wanted all my family to see!

Happy 6 months Morgan! Today Morgan turned 6 months old. STOP!!!!!!!!! I don't want her to get any older. She is a total doll and I have totally enjoyed every second of her! She loves to roll over, but once on her tummy she gets mad. Too cute!!

Rude Comments

Today at church Carter screamed (surprise) this man said "I guess someone hates church, that was such a horrible sound" The man next to him rolled his eyes and said "Oh I know that was the worst" This was in the hall on my way out of the place I am supposed to feel loved and accepted. I don't know what got into me because I am a blow it off type of person, but I said "you should try living with him, isn't he a doll? It is called the Autistic Scream" The man that started the rudeness said "oh is that what it is called?" I am telling you if I didn't have such a strong testimony I don't know if I would go to my ward. I have spent lots of time in the hallway and bathroom crying over rude comments about Carter at church and i think I am done crying about it, now the "old" Karolynn is coming back so watch out!!!!!! By the way Whitney and Melanie are never around to help me in these situations why?????????????

Mother's Day

Motherhood is......Something that can not be taken from me. If I were the last person on this earth, I would still be a mother, it is in my heart and soul, it is who I am.
-Karolynn Christiansen-

Roses from Whitney, she bought them all on her own and surprised me. They are beautiful!
Computer Program from Ivan. It makes 8,000 of the Hallmark card and comes with a scrapbooking program too.

Janika, Carter and Morgan gave me cards and enevelopes to go with my new program
Carter made me this cute flower at school

I had the best day ever. My sweetheart (Ivan) was so sweet to me he took the kids to the park after church to launch rockets while I took a nap, he made me lunch and treated me special. Janika, Carter and Morgan were so good. Whitney treated me special and gave me a paper with nice things about me on it. My Dad had us over for dinner, he made everything and wouldn't let me lift a finger. My Mom and Dad gave me $20.00 and a beautiful card. Michael called and left me a message and text message. My brother Kevin called me and my friend Katie sent me a nice Mother's day text message. Thank you everyone for making my day so special!

Happy Mother's Day

You Let Me Know You Love Me

You let me know you love me
In so many different ways.
You make me feel important
With encouragement and praise.
You're always there when I need you
To comfort and to care.
I know I'm in your thoughts;
Your love follows me everywhere.
Thank you for all you've done
And given so generously.
I love you, my wonderful mother;
You're a heaven-sent blessing to me.

By Joanna Fuchs

Mom, you are the best mother! Thank you for all you have done for me. Thank you for rocking me to sleep even when I was 28 years old. Thank you for wiping my tears and feeling my hurt with me. I will always try to be the kind of Mother you are to me. I love you!
Happy Mother's Day!

I am going to do the three things I am thankful for today just like Melanie and Holly, I think it is a great idea.

*Singing "Your Not Alone" on the phone with Melanie on the phone, laughing my hiney off, a great way to start a day.

*An email from my brother that lives in Texas.

*Lunch with Whitney.

I lived in North Carolina. I was 25, a business woman. Can you believe I was a business woman? I had the best job and such a great friend and mentor, Stepanie helping me be successful. I wore a necklace that was half of a heart, it was a best friend necklace that my bestest friend Katie gave me when I moved to NC. I was married to someone other then Ivan (not so fun) and I had a 6 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. I went country dancing with my friends every Wednesday night. Many 19 year old boy's called me Mom and looked up to me. They even brought their girlfriends over to our house to meet me for my approval, it was fun, Blair (Stehpanie had fun with him), Browning, and Bobo were my very favorites. I had a brand new home, wave runner, truck and a car, and a dog named Porsha. I was missing my Mom and Dad. I was infertile (boy has that changed) My favorite thing to do was to hop in the car with a ton of friends and go to the beach in Wilmington, NC. Best of all I had no physical pain.

5 Things on my list to do today...
1. Take care of the kids
2. Practice my guitar
3. Cook dinner
4. Call my Mommy
5. Go to Young Women's (Mother daughter party)

Snacks I enjoy...

5 Jobs I have had...
1. Valley Mental Health, Patient accounts coordinator. Loved it! Had to quit because I was pregnant with Janika and soooo sick.
2. Cape fear valley hospital, Assistant patient accounts manager. (going to lunch every day with Stephanie).
3. Drs Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine Specialist (Charles Hester, President, he was such a butt hole!)
4. Marcott, Gullick and Associates, Assistant manager (more like goofing off with Stephanie all day and pretending to work, sneaking out the back door, climbing out the window, taking a nap with my office door shut and locked the best of all getting paid top dollar for it. We were so bad back then, but it was sooo much fun!)
5. Family Counseling Center, Billing Specialist, no one to answer to everyone thought I was wonderful, felt so good!

5 Things you don't know about me...
1. I am very shy, you would never know because I hide it very well
2. I am in a butt load of pain every day of my life.
3. I scream out the window while driving the mini van and frighten people.
4. I graduated from college.
5. I can do the worm.

If I suddenly had a million dollars...
I would pay off my bills and spend the rest of it!!! I am not much for saving money.
