Birthday fun.

On Morgan's birthday, my friend Melanie and her cute kids came over and brought her some darling clothes and a cute dog toy. We bought her a little cake and took her to Carl's Jr. for dinner. She loves to play in the kid area!

This is Janika's friend party. She had a play-doh party. I made a ton of play-dough for the occasion (I have an awesome recipe for that stuff). She had 19 friends attended, so with my kids that made 22 little kids. They all seemed to have a blast. Janika got some awesome gifts, people around here are really generous.

Sunday, was Janika's official birthday, so we had a family dinner party for my 2 November girls. I fed 27 people. We had sloppy Joe's, chips, pasta salad, cherry pie filling salad and pistachio salad, I was cooking all morning. My mom brought her most amazing secret recipe cheese balls too. MMMMM! Morgan and Janika got some lovely gifts and had a really great time. Ivan and I are tired!

This is the cake. Red Velvet Cake.... Have you ever had one of these babies? I am not talking about the ones that you buy at the store, or the cake mix, or the ones you get in cupcake form at the Golden Corral. I am talking about a true homemade southern red velvet cake. This cake number 2, the first one was so beautiful and perfect, but we ate it before I thought about taking a photo. Do you want a slice? I still have half of it, better hurry! Michaels babysitter in NC introduced this cake to us and we used to pay her to make them for us. Now I can make them all on my own, now that I have time for it.

I had to report on Janika's beloved cupcake maker. What a joke! Seriously, the frosting thing doesn't even work. She absolutely loves it and never questioned why her cupcake didn't turn out like the one on the box. I learned that anything looks good with some sprinkles on it. Perhaps I will sprinkle myself.

That was our birthday fun, in short version. Can't wait for my turn in January!

Duck Park Fun

Sundays get pretty boring around our house. What can you do beside go to church? Well we decided to call Bryce and Renee and met them at the Duck Park. Ivan took some video of feeding the ducks. Seriously you have never seen so many ducks. It gets creepy when they are stepping on your feet fighting for bread.

Sunday Fun!

Ivan took the kids out in the backyard to play in the leaves. They had a blast! Whitney said "Ivan you are the best Dad" and it is true! She would have joined them, but she was feeding the homeless. She has been doing a lot of that lately.

I got a phone call today from Instacare and they said Morgan's urine was sent off to a lab for further testing. She does have an UTI after all, so I'm off to Walgreen's to get her RX. I am very upset that she has had to suffer this long. They told me it was the labs fault. What ever..

Chuck E. Cheese wants Whitney!

We went to the mad house last night (aka Chuck E. Cheese). The place was absolutely packed! We met up with Bryce, Renee and Thomas, luckily Bryce was able to get us a big table. Whitney was in the area and decided to meet us for our fine dinning meal. Chuck was out wishing kids a happy birthday and took one look at Whitney, turned around (ignoring the kids) and started hugging her. He would leave for a few seconds and immediately come back to hug her. I guess it was love at first sight. I took this photo of the two of them with Whitney's phone. After he was done he walked into the back room and came back out without the costume on and he was pretty hot (for a teenager)! Then another worker (darling teenager boy) came up to her and handed her a huge stack of tickets. Who would have thought that Whitney could have so much fun at Chuck E. Cheeses of all places? Who would have known that she could find love in such place? I guess she will start coming with us more often!

Toy advertisement madness

In the mail on Monday we received this little toy book from Wally World. Boy do these stores know what they are doing when they send these little magazines.

Janika has been obsessed with one of the pages. I mean OCD like Carter, she gazes at the page all day and we are going on day 4 now. Do you wonder what page she is obsessed with?

I am totally shocked that I could even get her to look up for the photo.

The cupcake maker page!

You know I have to buy it. Good thing her birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, I don't think she could make it until Christmas. Last night, while I was at YW Carter tore the page out of the book and when I got home I heard all about it. I threw the book away and gave her the crinkled up page. Guess what? She slept with it last night. When that toys r us book comes, it is going straight to the trash!

Update to Ivan's post about his finger. The answer is B. He ended up with an infection and is antibiotics for that. The stitches are out!

Pee wee baby, pee!

Morgan was taken to the Instacare last night due to having a fever for 2 days and being very cranky. They ruled out the normal viral crap and her ears and throat looked great. They are thinking she has an UTI. How do they test for this? With a urine sample. How do they get a urine sample from a baby? With a catheter. I asked all the freaked out mom questions, most important, is it going to hurt? I was told no. Well after her screaming for 40 minutes, 3 of us holding her down. I said we are done! So they put a bag on her little self and we waited and waited and waited, no pee. Then I nursed her, they gave her apple juice and still no pee. The nurse did a pee dance and I sang songs adding the word pee in places, still no pee. 2 hours later we were sent home with the bag still taped to her special spot. I was to go home, take the pee from the bag, place it in the sample cup they gave me, put it in the fridge (preferably not next to Carter's sippy cup of apple juice) and return the sample in the morning. 11pm no pee, 3am no pee, 5am PEE!!! Only problem is the bag came off on one part and all the pee went into the diaper. So I decided to leave the poor thing alone. Now I am off to try again. Wish us luck!

The DMV

I usually do the car registration online, but the dang Grease Monkey kept out little paper with the pin number on it, so it forced me to go to the DMV. I was dreading dragging all the kids inside. Look what I found when I arrived.

The new DMV in Farmington has a drive up window!
Sweet! It only took me one minute to pay and get my 09 sticker.

When things in life go so smooth, I am happy and when Momma is happy the kids are happy!

Our Halloween Fun!

Halloween was great! First we went to a party at Ivan's work, then to a party at a friends, then trick or treating, then to the Sizzler for dinner and then we went to my parents house to surprise them with the cutest kids ever!
Janika had a school field trip to the pumpkin patch. Ivan and i tagged along with the kids. It was pretty cool!

I took the YW to the pumpkin patch for our class activity. Even though Whitney is not a beehive we let her tag along with us. The girls seemed to have a blast! Aren't they beautiful? Let me tell you they are amazing girls.
