Beauty Shop!

This is what has been going on in my bathroom the last couple of months. We got two beauty school girls that are great friends playing beauty shop. This is Kort and Whit coloring Cody's hair. Often, when I sit on the pot, I glance over and see a trash can full of hair, dye on the floor and hairspray allover the place. Cody is looking cute these days having two bffs that go to beauty school. He probably saves a lot of money too. Whit does nails in her room too if anyone is interested.
Does anyone have a salon chair and shampoo bowl they would like to donate to our beauty shop? I am sure Ivan could make her a room in the basement.

Fire Station

A couple of weeks ago we went to the fire station in Layton. They had some fun activities for free.

We met up with Bryce, Renee and Thomas. Aren't these the cutest Christiansen kids? Morgan is wondering why Thomas is holding her, too cute!

Flash Back...

This was my very first car, a Chevy Citation. So many memories and fun in this car. My Dad bought me this car for $500.00. The original owner died, she was very old and resembled that Where's the Beef lady on the Wendy's commercials. I drove it from age 16 to 19. Do you remember me in this car? Do remember any fun times in this car? Do you remember the Wendy's commercials with that old lady in it?
This is me when I was a senior in high school. I really don't know what to say, but I wanted everyone to see how innocent (not) and cute I was. Do you remember me when I looked like this? Do you just love my poofy hair? Did you have big hair?

Grapes

I have a ton of these concord grapes up for grabs. I am not using them this year because I still have so much juice and jelly left over from canning last year. Do you need these grapes? Do you know how to make juice and the best ever grape jelly? I can teach you! Do you know anyone who wants them? I hate to see them go to waste. Last night Ivan's parents came up for dinner and picked 3 boxes and didn't even make a dent in them. Come and get them! Let me know so I can unlock my gate.

Happy 70th Birthday, Dad!

My dad’s the biggest guy, and my dad’s the strongest guy, and my dad’s the nicest guy of any guy in town.
He can do anything, he’ll fix your bike or fly your kite, cause my dad, my dad’s the greatest guy around.
He can throw a ball so high you think it’s going to break the sky; he knows the name of every kind of jet (vrooooooom);
He can add up any sum; he always has money for bubble gum. I haven’t figured how he does it yet.
But, my dad’s the smartest guy, and my dad’s the bravest guy, and my dad’s the neatest guy. It’s positively so.
Maybe I’ll introduce you, then you’ll know that it’s the truth that my dad, my dad’s the greatest guy you know!

Remember this Janeen Brady song? I sure do, I sang it with a lot of pride because I truly believed that this song was written for my Dad! My Dad has lived such a wonderful and proud life. He has worked so hard for his family and his country. He has always adored me and my Mother. Never once have I felt he didn't love me. At times he had 3 jobs to make sure we had the very best of everything. Growing up, I never felt deprived of him working so much because he always found time for me, whether it was going for ice cream, swimming, bowling, roller skating, ice skating, jazz games or even working with him at the gas station. Happy birthday Dad... You are such an inspiration to me and everyone who knows you. I love you!

Do you remember all the Janeen Brady songs? My favorite was "I'm a Mormon.
Did the lying song make you feel guilty? It sure made me feel bad.
Do you know my Dad?
Don't you just love him? I sure do!

Chuck E. Cheese

We celebrated this weeks family night at Chuck E. Cheese. Carter has been viewing this new Chuck E. Cheese location out of the car window for about a month now, asking if he can go, well he finally got his wish. The kids had a lot of fun and the pizza was great "NOT". The truth is the pizza really sucked and Carter was deep in space (one of those autistic moments), like he was on some type of drug. Janika had a freak out moment when another girl cut in front of the line and had to put her in time out. The place was totally packed and it was hard to find a table let alone a clean one. Some games were already broken and stole some of our tokens. All in all the kids had fun!

Do you like Chuck E. Cheese's pizza?
Did you know they opened one up in Layton and it is viewable from I-15 (to torture me)?
Did you know you can get coupons at http://www.chuckecheese.com/?

White Washing the V

Every year the Seniors get to go up to the "V" and paint it white. Who knew painting could be so much fun? I never got to paint the "C" at Cyprus high and Hunter didn't have the "H". Did you have a letter for your school on a mountain? Did you get to paint it? Did you know Whitney could look like a boy? Neither did I...

Photo Story Friday...

A wire broke in my bra and poked me all day long. If you have ever had that happen, you know how miserable it is. I went outside to throw this evil bra away (all bras are evil) and decided to make Ivan and Whitney laugh by putting it on the car. We were driving to my Mom's house for family dinner, this bra held on for all 40 minutes. Along the way we would have people honk at us. Many times we would look over at the cars and other crazy ladies would have their bras off, swinging them around and yelling "yeah". It was like a bra freeing holiday, surely amazing, like some type of right to take off your bra day.

This is my BMW (big Mormon wagon) with my ex bra attached as we arrived to my Mom's house.

This is the evil bra as we drove down 2-15.

Notice the car in front of my Moms house... See the evil bra on that car? Well, as we left to go home, I decided the evil bra needed a new home. Congratulations Kurtis and Melissa (brother and sister-in-law) you are the proud owner of a nasty evil bra. Luckley Kurtis and Melissa share my humor.

Do you like my humor? Don't answer that...
Do you feel like taking off your bra for good?

Not Me Monday...

Check out this fun Not Me Monday put on by My charming kids. click on the photo above to check it out. She is great!

My turn...

I did not go to church late and unprepared to teach.

I did not cook dinner for 15 people and stand on my bad foot all afternoon and evening.

I did not stay up until 12:30 am, making my new header (you know I will change it next week).

I did not let Carter watch TV in his bed all day to deal with his melt downs.

I did not let Whitney stay home from school so I wouldn't have to get up early today and deal with the insurance adjuster (she got in a car accident on Friday).

I did not stay up ALL night with Morgan.

I did not do any of these things... They are soooooo NOT ME!!! ha ha ha ha!!

Can't get my blood.....

I guess if you nurse a baby, had coke for breakfast, skipped lunch and drank no water. You get dehydrated. A simple blood draw from the Dr. took 5 sticks, my blood wouldn't come. They ended up getting it out of my hand, but still only a little. What is a girl to do after this? I went to get a coke on my way home, because that is how I roll..... Janika took this photo!

This is my medical bills for this month. Every month I get horrible bills in the mail from doctor offices. Let me tell you, they are all wrong. Today is the day that I set aside for getting them all straightened out. I worked many, many years doing medical billing and boy has this paid off for my family. Most people blindly pay these bills. Even my insurance company said I owed $520.00 that I didn't owe. After review today, they agreed to pay it. ARGGGG! So today I spent 2 hours on the phone and saved $564.22. Just a little rule of thumb... If your bill is over your normal copay, and you have met your yearly deductible.....DO NOT pay the bill without extensive research. Call the insurance company first, then the Doctors office. You will be amazed how many times you do not owe the bill. If you need help, please feel free to ask me for assistance.

******************************************************************************

1. Carter's doing better today

2. Napping baby

3. Stephanie training me to do medical billing (she is amazing and a great friend too)

4. Breakfast with Mel and Sarah (thanks for letting us know abut photo Friday too)

5. It's Friday! I love Friday's
